Bitinjan Battiri--NEW in 2026!
70 days
‘Bitinjan Battiri' means "Eggplant of Battir," and this is the thorny-crowned pale purple eggplant from Palestine's famed Battir Valley. It is commonly served stuffed with meat and/or rice and other vegetables, and the thorny crowns themselves are also considered a delicacy. This variety come to us from the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library and 50% of the packet price of every packet sold goes back to that project. We have been growing this eggplant for ourselves for the past two years and the flavor is excellent. Very tall plants should be staked.
