African Blue Basil

$5.50

Annual
This new basil is absolutely beautiful! It has large purple-green leaves, and the plants grow tall and bushy with lovely pinkish-lavender flower spikes that are irresistible to bees and other pollinators. While most people grow this as an ornamental, the leaves taste great in pesto. I'd say the flavor is somewhere between Greek basil and Cinnamon basil, but the plant itself is a cross between African basil and a red-leaved Italian basil.
