This crisp, juicy, thick-walled, heirloom pepper hails from Odessa on the Black Sea in Ukraine. It grows rapidly and dependably sets 7–12 flavorful fruits per plant that may be eaten at any stage of ripeness. At the edible green stage, the 2¼x4½" tapered peppers have a distinctive wild lime color that morphs to orange and then to a deep dark red. They are sweet and full-textured whether enjoyed raw, sautéed or roasted.
