Pineberries

$36.00

Pineberries are a specialty hybrid of a South American red strawberry and a white strawberry native to Chile. They are a delicate pinkish-white when ripe, and studded with tiny red seeds. The fruits are smaller that most red strawberries and softer in texture. As my CSA members can attest, the flavor is fabulous! It tastes like a very sweet strawberry with hints of pineapple and other tropical flavors.

Pineberries are not self pollinating and need to be planted with a strawberry that will bloom at the same time as the pineberry. So when you order, you will receive 5 pineberry plants and 1 strawberry plant.

Pineberries and strawberries are perennials, so as long as you take care of your planting, you will harvest fresh berries year after year. My planting is about 15 years old!

Your plants will send out runners each year and in a year or two, you will have dozens of plants! Each order will come with full instructions for planting and maintaining your berry patch!

You will pick your plants up in about a month . . . I will email you with the exact date.
