This heirloom variety has a sweet, mild flavor and great texture. It isn’t exactly a “dwarf” plant, but it doesn’t grow as tall as other kales, so is a good variety to grow in a small garden area, or in large containers.

This is my favorite of all the curly kales, and also my favorite for freezing for winter. Speaking of freezing, it is very cold hardy, and can take a pretty hard freeze and still stay alive and productive, often past Thanksgiving.
