28 days to maturity
If you like salads, you will LOVE getting super fresh and tasty lettuce from your very own garden!
These lettuce starts come to you as a 6-pack, and there are 12-24 seedlings per 6-pack, making this a terrific deal! Plus you get at least 7 different lettuces varieties, including both red and green. Each variety has its own texture and flavor, making for a perfect salad.
For repeated harvests, cut above the growing bud that’s in center of the plant, and you will continue to have fresh greens for months!
When planting, separate the individual pots by tearing or cutting them apart. (Even though the Fertil pots are biodegradable, cut off the bottom of the pot with a sharp knife before planting it in the ground so that the roots will be able to find all the water and nutrients they need.) Plant each small pot 6-12 inches from the next. Make sure that the top of the pot is completely under the soil line and put a small amount of soil on top of it. Water well immediately after planting.
You may also plant lettuce in a large container, separating the little pots and planting about 6 inches apart.
Once the weather turns hot, lettuce plants tend to bolt (send up a flowering stalk and set seed), so you will want to harvest all of your lettuce plants before this happens.
